Data Field Flags, flag installation, Lillstreet Art Center, Chicago, IL, 2011

Chris had four large flags printed for an installation on the roof of the Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago. They were up for several weeks.

The flag designs all come from previous projects' charts and images. Usually these charts are data-intense and are intended to be read at close range in great detail. With the flags, Chris is intentionally reversing the viewers' relationship with the images, making the charts impossible to read as data, and forcing them to exist solely as visual compositions.
