The Most Beautiful Tree in the World

The Most Beautiful Tree in the World is a project in which you can easily play an integral part. Each year, Chris holds a contest to see which tree, out of all the trees in the world, is the most beautiful tree.

You are invited to join in Chris' attempt to determine which tree, out of the many trees in the world, is The Most Beautiful Tree of 2011.

There are 2 ways in which you may help determine which tree is this year's Most Beautiful.
1) The thumbnails below show you 20 trees that have been nominated as Critic's Choices. You may click on them to see them in greater detail. After examining these trees, you may email Chris at chris.wildrick at and tell him which one you think is the most beautiful. Just use the tree's number to identify it; for instace, "I vote for Tree 18," etc. (One vote per person per year.) At the end of the year, your votes will be tallied up and The Most Beautiful Tree of 2011 will be announced here.

2) You may nominate your own trees for this election as well. After finding a tree which you think has the stuff to be included in this high-stakes process, just send Chris a jpeg image of it. The image should be10" tall with a resolution of 72dpi, and should have a vertical aspect ratio. Chris will post the tree on this site and list your name as a "tree contributor," although your name will not be specifically attached to the image, so as not to artificially influence the number of votes that that tree may receive. (It is important that the trees receive their votes solely on their beauty and not because of other, extraneous, factors!)
