Exploring Peer Review to Regain a Consensus Reality and Understanding of Expertise
This presentation summarizes my Loki project and relates it to the concept of peer review in general, especially in the context of current American (and worldwide) propaganda, conspiracy theories, lack of support for the concept of expertise, and rejection of science.
While Loki is a critique of peer review within the Art World, the point is to actually make it stronger by making it more appropriate and useful to the everyday artist.
My sense is that both the use of trickster strategies, but even moreso the use of grassroots citizen peer review/citizen science, is the best strategy to bring back a sense of a consensus reality based on facts and tested theories.
