I stood in various lines for eight hours one day at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.
Once I got to the front I handed over a card explaining what I was doing and left the line.
Lines I stood in included the DMV, Unemployment, various banks, food vendors’ carts, the Liberty Bell, the Mint, movie theaters, department stores, the Franklin Institute, and many others.
I performed Making Lines Longer in an era where I would design posters for each performance after I did them, then I would display the poster, as seen here, in future exhibitions.
