Who Is That Unmasked Man?

I turned myself into the secret identity of an unidentified superhero for one hour a day over a three day span at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.

The fact that I was transforming into this superhero’s secret identity was widely publicized, but the specific times were kept secret. Thus, at any time someone was talking to me over this particular weekend, I may or may not have actually been the superhero’s secret identity.

I performed Who Is That Unmasked Man in an era where I would design posters for each performance after I did them, then I would display the poster, as seen here, in future exhibitions.

I also performed a remote version of this project for the 7a*11d Performance Art Festival. The festival publicized my performance, while I stayed at home as a superhero’s secret identity once again. This is a brief video clip from that performance.
